The Great Liners (Episode 48)

Golden Maritime Memories (Part 1)

We love finding and restoring really rare old film that’s never been made public before, and this we most certainly do in this episode.   We take you on a cruise from London to Scotland in the 1930s, sail to Australia in the 1960s aboard Shaw Savill’s Northern Star, take an in depth look at the ports of Freemantle and Rotterdam in the 1960/70s when they’re full of ships and after all this, we then take you aboard the magnificent Queen of Bermuda in her war time colours, as she sails in a convoy, bringing troops and other military personnel back home from the horrors of the notorious WW2 Japanese prison camps.
