Welcome to this Website and to these beautifully made videos from our
television series "The Great Liners".

"ECHOES OF THE MERSEY"

A painting by Robert Lloyd
depicting a scene from episode 8 - Cunard's Mauretania sails on her maiden voyage 1939 as Lamport & Holt's Voltaire departs to West Africa.

Made for television roadcast, the producers of these videos have searched the world for over ten years to find the rarest archive films to make this series possible. It has all been very carefully renovated, edited and dubbed-the end result is a truly unique series of 58 minute episodes which recreate the period between the turn of the century through to modern times. We show our ports and estuaries when they were filled with a myriad of beautiful ships all in their company colours and sail with them out into the many estuaries that were once the busiest shipping lanes on earth and then off to the far corners of the world.
